FAQs

All the answers to your questions.

Indirect lighting

The spaces left at the back of the profile are specially designed to easily conceal cables. The position of the transformer will depend on its size and shape, as well as the lighting profile used. The ideal position should be determined in advance depending on the installation conditions.

The more LEDs per metre, the less you will see the light spots. The diffuser provides an even, indirect and glare-free distribution of light.

The connection must be performed by a qualified electrician.

The recommendation is subject to the discretion of the LED manufacturer.

The visible parts of the profiles are primed and ready to be painted. Please pay attention to the diffuser (on the CL14) and the grooves for inserting the diffuser.

No, LED lights are not provided with the profiles for indirect lighting. This also gives you the choice to integrate the LEDs you want.

The indirect lighting profiles themselves are water resistant. If you wish to install your profiles in a damp environment, you should ensure that you obtain water-resistant LEDs/transformers.

The diffuser is cut in the same way as the profiles; simply with a saw or a circular saw.

The choice of LEDs will depend on the colour, the number of watts and the effect you want, as well as the room in which the lighting profiles will be installed. Due to the many possibilities and the rapid development of this technology, we do not recommend specific LEDs. However, please make sure that the strip is no wider than 1.5 cm to fit on the profile.

The temperature resistance of the profiles is +70°C, therefore it is important to ensure that the LED temperature does not exceed 70°C.

The recommendation is left to the discretion of the LED manufacturer.

For the installation of LEDs, preferably contact your electrician or the LED manufacturer.

Installation

Absolutely! No need to be a professional, decoflair products are specially designed for the end user. Find out how to do it by watching our installation videos.

Extruded polymer and expanded polymer elements are cut with a small-tooth saw, while high-density extruded polymer and polyurethane elements are cut with a large-tooth saw. The MB1 and MB2 mitre boxes are designed to cut 90° and 45° angles manually. For all other angles and precision cuts we recommend the use of a circular saw.

Plastered or papered interior surfaces are considered suitable surfaces. In order to guarantee a successful installation, the surfaces must be clean, dry, dust-free, grease-free and even (roughen if necessary). Installation on damp substrates, under forced drying conditions or at very high temperatures should be avoided.

Before drying, you can remove glue residues with a spatula or a damp sponge. After drying, the glue can be removed with a spatula or by sanding.

Yes, provided that the installation surfaces are clean, dry, dust-free, grease-free and even.

It's easy. Just use our glue calculator by clicking here.

The decoflair glue is suitable for both product assembly and jointing. Apply the glue to the back of the profile and to the cut and make sure that there is a 3mm gap between the mitres during installation. Remove excess glue with a damp sponge and flatten the joint with a spatula. Let dry (min. 6h), then lightly sand the joints with sanding paper (150 grain or finer). Touch up the joints on the ceiling and wall and the mitre joints with decoflair adhesive. The decoflair glue is suitable for both product assembly and jointing. No, our glues do not contain formaldehyde and are classified as VOC A+.

The decoflair products are suitable for rentals, as long as the surface on which they are installed is protected. If there is no wallpaper or rough plaster on the surface to be covered with profiles, a background fleece can be mounted with glue. This background fleece can thus be removed at any time without leaving any residue, as well as everything that is glued and painted to this background fleece.

Product info

decoflair products are sold through DIY stores. Visit the "Where to buy" page to find a retailer near you.

decoflair products are available in 4 qualities. Products beginning with the letter D are made of extruded polymer. Products beginning with the letter C are made of high density extruded polymer. Finally, products beginning with the letters B, E or T are made of expanded polymer and those beginning with F or M are made of polyurethane.

Technical data sheets are available on the installation page.

The temperature resistance of the profiles is +70°C. For indirect lighting profiles, it must therefore be ensured that the temperature of the LEDs does not exceed 70°C.

All decoflair products made of polymer are water resistant, making them suitable for damp environments such as kitchens and bathrooms.

All decoflair products made of high density extruded polymer and polyurethane are shock resistant.

No, decoflair products are only intended for indoor use.
